ABOUT THE POSITION
As a DE / BIM Technician, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, and support the team to assist in the creation, coordination, and management of high-quality 3D models for major clients in Australia’s construction and design industry. This includes documentation, understanding and managing software workflows, supporting coordination meetings, and detailing of built assets for design and construction.
ABOUT YOU
asBuilt is seeking an enthusiastic team member looking to further their career within the construction sector. The successful applicant preferably has a degree/certificate in architecture - but not a necessity. Have sufficient Autodesk Revit or 3D software technical experience with an understanding of Navisworks, Revizto, PowerBi and Excel.
You should be motivated, with a "can do" attitude, and a passion to succeed. You will be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an openness to learning new skills, workflows and techniques.
- At least two years commercial working experience.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent preferable i.e. have a degree in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
- Strong design sensibilities and solid computer 3D manipulation and technical abilities are key.
- Ability to work and coordinate with key stakeholders.
- Experience in the construction industry would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to write and edit documentation, and deliver both internally and externally on projects
- Knowledge of Autodesk Autodesk Revit , Navisworks and AutoCADs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft operating suite, Teams, and PowerBI an advantage.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Apply technical review processes and workflows, with 3D models to support and inform digital construction coordination.
- Support your team with project management activities, to create and implement appropriate and relevant documentation and manage client relationships.
- Provide a supporting role to deliver to internal colleagues and external consultants/subcontractors.
- Apply 'best practice' workflows and systems and deploy these to projects and tasks.
- Undertake dataset, cloud software and documentation management activities to successfully support project delivery.
- Carry out model audits to determine quality and standards of BIM delivery.
- Carry out model federation where required. Support with clash detection exercises where required.
- Deliver high quality outputs within agreed scope, time frame and budget.
- Adhere to current asBuilt standards and offer or implement innovative solutions for the continuous creation of smarter ways to conduct asBuilt’s work.
