University of Auckland - Science Centre
Building 302 is the University of Auckland’s new science centre. It is a purpose built, 11 storey, 22,500m2 building.
The existing buildings remained occupied during demolition and throughout construction, requiring intricate staging plans.
asBuilt were engaged to by a BIM Manager at Fletcher Construction during the construction phase of the project. asBuilt’s role was to aid in the coordination for the management of all model files and storage. Over thirteen BIM models were successfully federated including building services, structural and architectural models in line with project objectives and deliverables. This allowed us to provide all modelling disciplines with a live and up to date co-ordination environment, in person co-ordination meetings and assist the design/construction team to assign issues for resolution. A large education piece on the project was to give the construction team the flexibility to easily view on any PC/iPad app for overall site use.
